Why are people so passionate about Apple?
Every day, people in Europe and North America drive cars, use public transport, buy groceries, shop for clothes, use the Internet, talk on the telephone and a handful also spend time on their mobile devices.
However, nothing draws as much passion and ire in recent times as these mobile devices, especially those working on Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android system.
Why?
We don’t find people ranting and raving online endlessly about Target or British Telecom or Danone or Dell or even Nokia and Ericsson, for that matter. All of these brands affect our lives and that too in often more meaningful ways than Samsung or Apple.
Yet, people are most passionate about their iPhones and iPads and will take time out of their busy schedules to argue vehemently for or against them.
Why??
One thing is for sure… Both parties have made a lot of money - we’re talking obscene amounts - on the back of the PR generated by this zealotry.
Apple’s now the biggest company in the world. Yes, we value Apple more than our cars our food and our clothing suppliers.
Does that really make sense to everyone?
