Why Facebook Promoted Posts Are Cheekier Than They Seem
On the face of it, the ability to Promote Posts, as you post them on Facebook sounds like a perfectly sensible idea - for the page owner and for Facebook.
However, when you think further about it, you quickly realise that the concept of prompting you to promote posts directly from the Facebook page is rather cheeky, for the following reasons:
Every time you post content to your page, the link sits there, reminding you that unless you pay Facebook, your post won’t really be seen by a large percentage of your audience
More importantly, though, if you do go ahead and promote your posts, this doesn’t just get deducted from your other Facebook advertising budgets. Instead, Facebook bills this as an added item, and unless you proactively deduct that from your pre-assigned Facebook ad budget, you’ll end up spending more than you’d initially intended to!
